Customers

Panel page: Originators (Ctrl K → originators). The panel calls customers originators; see the glossary.

A customer is whoever sends calls to your switch: another switch, a carrier or a dialer. Routyx knows which customer a call belongs to from the IP address it comes from.

  1. Originators → Add.
  2. Name: the customer’s name. Use letters, digits, spaces and dashes; avoid quote marks such as '.
  3. IP addresses: every address the customer sends calls from.
  4. Routing group: the group from Routing groups.
  5. Billing account: the account with the same name, from Billing accounts.
  6. Save.

That is all. From now on, calls from those IP addresses are accepted, routed through the group and priced on the customer’s rate sheet.

  1. Send the customer the switch address we gave you. They point their traffic at it.

If the customer sends numbers in a format your routes do not expect, for example with a technical prefix in front, set the number rewrite on the customer: remove or add digits at the start of the number as the call comes in.

You can limit how many calls one customer may have up at once. Your plan’s own limit applies to the whole switch on top of this.
