Your first test call
Ask the customer to send one call to a number that should work, or send it yourself with a softphone (below).
Send a test call yourself with a softphone
Section titled “Send a test call yourself with a softphone”- Find your office’s public IP address (search “what is my IP” in a browser).
- Add a test customer with that IP address, a routing group and a billing account, as on the Customers page.
- In a softphone that can call without registering (often called direct IP calling or no registration), dial the number as
sip:NUMBER@SWITCH-ADDRESS, for examplesip:2348012345678@followed by the switch address we sent you. - Remove the test customer when you are done, so that IP address cannot send calls on your switch later.

If something is missing
Section titled “If something is missing”- No row at all: the call never reached Routyx as this customer. Check the customer’s IP address.
- A row that says refused by the switch: the row says why: unknown customer, no route, a number list, a limit.
- Routed but failed: open the SIP tab. The answer code from the port or carrier says why. See Troubleshooting.
