Moving from another switch
Moving to Routyx means rebuilding your customers, routes and prices on your new switch, then pointing traffic at it. We do the first part with you in the free onboarding call.
1. Send us what you have
Section titled “1. Send us what you have”Before the onboarding call, send us whatever your old switch can export:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your customers, with the IP addresses they send calls from | to create them on Routyx |
| Your rate sheets (sale and cost per prefix), in any format | we import the first one with you |
| Your gateways and carriers: names, IP addresses, technical prefixes | to create the terminators |
| Your CallXML scripts, if you use them | Routyx supports a subset; we adapt them with you |
2. Build and test on Routyx
Section titled “2. Build and test on Routyx”During the onboarding call we set up the first gateway, carrier, routing group, prices and customer with you. Then you make a test call from a test customer, while your old switch still carries all the real traffic.
3. Move the traffic
Section titled “3. Move the traffic”- Carriers first. Carriers that filter by IP must allow the new switch address before any call can reach them. Ask them early.
- Gateways. Point each port’s SIP server at the new switch address. Ports re-register within a minute; check they show registered.
- Customers last. Ask each customer to send to the new switch address. Start with one customer and watch their first calls on Calls: routed, answered, priced.
- Keep the old switch until every customer has moved and a full day of traffic looks right on Routyx.
